During the 2007 Legislative Session, the General Assembly passed the AIM/TRIM Manufacturing Inputs Sales Tax Exemption (Senate Bill 30), which exempts from state sales and use tax and local use tax all utilities, chemicals, machinery, and equipment used in manufacturing.

To find out how this new law will impact your business, plan to attend this FREE symposium from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at the La-Z-Boy Midwest Facility, 4301 Howard Bush Drive, Neosho, MO 64850. A complimentary breakfast will be provided.

The Taxpayers Research Institute (TRIM) will provide a history of the exemption and an overview of the new law. The Missouri Department of Revenue will also address the crowd regarding requirements for claiming the exemption.

• Taxpayer record keeping requirements
• Forms that will be required
• Acceptable methods of calculating utility use for manufacturing
• Issue resolution process – for resolving taxpayer questions
• Question and answer period to allow attendees to ask questions of the DOR experts relating to their manufacturing business.
